A Technical Standard
for a Multi-Market World.

The global Muslim-friendly economy has matured significantly. Brands, manufacturers, hospitality operators, and destinations are no longer asking whether to engage Muslim consumers — they are asking how to do it well, consistently, and credibly across multiple markets simultaneously.

Acrosx Japan Inc. develops and administers technical Muslim-friendly operational standards — certifying against defined process, infrastructure, and quality benchmarks. Our frameworks are highly technical and focus on the value chain that reaches the end user which the Muslims. That is why staff competency, supply chain documentation, facility design, and guest or consumer experience quality as well as the Halal Integrity are equally important.

This distinction matters. Japan's government and corpora do not just officially endorse religious certification. It has to have reference to technical Muslim-friendly operational standards, which is what Acrosx is all about. Acrosx is the body that fills that role: Japan's only technical Muslim-friendly standards body — WHFC Observing Membership application submitted (WHFC申請中).

【Technical Excellence. Operational Integrity. Market Credibility.】
KW Standard is a technical operational standard — not a religious authority. It certifies against defined benchmarks: facility design, process controls, supply chain documentation, staff competency, labelling compliance, and consumer experience quality. This distinction is intentional and important. Religious halal authorities serve their communities with legitimacy and purpose within their jurisdictions. KW Standard serves a different and complementary need — providing an internationally coherent, technically auditable framework that organisations can implement regardless of which national markets they serve. Organisations certified under KW Standard are operationally prepared to meet the requirements of any target market. The documentation, systems, and processes built through certification are assets that travel.

【Japan and the Muslim World — A Strategic Partnership】
Japan's relationship with Muslim-majority economies represents one of the most significant bilateral growth opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region. Indonesia, the Gulf states, and Malaysia are among Japan's most important trade and tourism partners — and Muslim consumer spending globally is projected to continue growing across food, cosmetics, hospitality, fashion, and healthcare. KW Standard was built with this economic relationship in mind. Our goal is not simply to certify — it is to strengthen the commercial bridge between Japan and Muslim-majority markets, creating sustainable value for Japanese businesses, their international partners, and the Muslim consumers they serve. Technical standards. Operational excellence. Economic partnership.

Founded on government mandate
Acrosx's frameworks evolved from the national Muslim Friendly Standard programme Keith Wong architected for Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare — the only non-Japanese, non-Muslim ever appointed to this role.
Internationally benchmarked
KWUH is benchmarked against MS 2610:2015, MFAR, OIC/SMIIC 2:2019. KWME against MS 1500:2019, OIC/SMIIC 1 & 4, GSO 2055-1, and Indonesia Reg 42/2024. Our standards speak the language of the global halal economy.
Complementary — not competing
Acrosx occupies the hospitality, destination, and technical product standards space. We work alongside — not against — religious halal certification bodies. Our lane is the one no other body in Japan currently occupies.
ISO/IEC 17065 directional structure
Acrosx functions as the independent certification body. We have FAST (NGO公平社会変革), MFIA (ムスリムフレンドリー国際協会) and other organizations that serves as the separate implementation partner — an architecture designed toward ISO/IEC 17065 certification body independence principles.

【Built in Japan. Designed for the World.】 Japan presents a specific context that shaped how KW Standard was designed. Japan's constitutional framework requires separation of government and religion — meaning Japan cannot officially endorse religious certification. What it can endorse, and does, are technical operational standards. For five years, KW Standard served as the operational backbone of Japan's national Muslim Friendly Standard programme under the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare — training over 1,500 hospitality professionals from Hokkaido to Miyazaki. That government mandate demanded a standard that was rigorous, defensible, and free from religious jurisdiction. KW Standard was built to meet exactly that demand. The result is a framework that works in Japan.

【International Alignment — Serving Consumers from Every Market】
Japan welcomes millions of Muslim visitors and consumers annually — from Indonesia, the Gulf, Malaysia, and across the Muslim world. Japanese products and services certified under KW Standard are assessed against benchmarks aligned with the standards those consumers know and trust at home. KW Standard is technically aligned with:

1. MS 2610:2015 and MS 1500:2019 — the Malaysian halal standards for food and general requirements, providing a familiar and trusted benchmark for Malaysian Muslim consumers.
2. GSO 2055 and SMIIC OIC/SMIIC 4:2021 — the halal standards frameworks of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, serving Muslim consumers from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and across the Gulf region.
3. BPJPH — Indonesia's halal product assurance system — ensuring that certified products and services meet the expectations of Indonesian Muslim consumers, the largest Muslim population in the world.
4. ISO 17065 — the international standard for certification body competence, ensuring that KW Standard certificates are issued through a rigorous, independent, and auditable process.
This alignment is not incidental. It is by design. Muslim consumers visiting Japan or purchasing Japanese-certified products deserve the assurance that the standard behind the certificate reflects the values and requirements of their own markets. KW Standard delivers that assurance.

Three frameworks.
One standard of trust.

Each framework is independently audited, benchmarked against major international standards, and operated with no self-assessment component. All KWUH audits are conducted personally on-site by Keith Wong.
